Moeyo (燃えよ, lit. "Ignite"; English title: MO-EH-YO (Ignite)) is a song by Fujii Kaze. Released on September 4, 2021 as a digital-only single by Universal Music / HEHN RECORDS. Also included on Fujii's second album "LOVE ALL SERVE ALL".

Overview

First unveiled at the Fujii Kaze "Free" Live 2021 at NISSAN stadium concert held on September 4, 2021, and released digitally as an emergency release on the same day. During the live performance, Fujii Kaze spoke about the song as follows:

Next up, all of a sudden, I want to do a new song. I'd like to do a new song that you... that you've never heard of before. It's called MO-EH-YO.

This song is almost a bit corny, really straight, really direct.

When I'm feeling listless or a bit down, I thought — isn't it okay to have a song this straight, this powerful?

It was a song I needed. I'd be happy if you all needed it too.

Music Video

The music video was directed by Kazuaki Seki and shot entirely on a Google Pixel[2]. The MV had its premiere on YouTube at 18:00 on October 24, 2021. Just before the premiere, at around 17:57, a unique cross-network CM campaign for Google Pixel 6 ("#JibunRashiku Moeyo") aired across five Tokyo-area commercial broadcasters, with sequential 30-second spots stitched together into a 2.5-minute narrative[2].

Self-Liner Notes

According to Fujii Kaze's self-liner notes (published via the LOVE ALL SERVE ALL Listening Party and the official app):

He recalls the song as first serving as Team Kaze's theme for the 2021 Nissan Stadium free live and later gaining ties through a Pixel commercial and NHK's Kōhaku. He also suggests it may be the oldest song on the album and treasures its youthful, straight, hot energy.
