Hachikō is a song by Fujii Kaze. It is the lead track of his third studio album Prema, released as an advance digital single on June 13, 2025 alongside the album announcement.[1] On Prema (September 5, 2025), it appears as track 3 on DISC 1.[2]
Background
According to the official album page, "Hachikō" originated as a track Fujii Kaze made with Sir Nolan and Tobias Jesso Jr. in 2022; Fujii later added a new topline, and producer 250 completed the song with a new arrangement.[2]
The composition is credited to Fujii Kaze and Tobias Jesso Jr., lyrics to Fujii Kaze, and production to Nolan Lambroza (Sir Nolan) and 250.[3]
Title and theme
The song's title references Hachikō, the Akita dog who is said to have waited at Shibuya Station for more than nine years after the death of his owner.[4] In a press release by Universal Music Canada, Fujii Kaze connects the song to themes of loyalty, joy, peace, and feelings toward his fans.[5]

Music video
An official music video was released on YouTube simultaneously with the song's digital premiere on June 13, 2025.[1][6]
Live performances
"Hachikō" was performed as the final song (tenth in the setlist) of Fujii Kaze's set at Coachella 2026 Week 1 (April 11, 2026, Mojave Tent). Unlike several other songs from that same set — "It's Alright", "Okay, Goodbye", and "You" — "Hachikō" was not a live debut, having been performed previously.[7]
